What’s In The Box? February 1-7

Game Time
Whether you are toasting to Punxsutawney Phil as a twosome, or gathering family, friends and fellow fans for a game day feast, this week’s lineup feast is sure to satisfy, starring our signature beef chili crafted from premium beans and rich tomato sauce, plus fresh cornbread, honey butter and smoky blue cheese dip with seasonal veggies fit for dunking. Polish off Super Sunday with such sides as traditional Collard greens and carrot-apple slaw (see recipes for details!), an espresso-kissed chocolate bar and a frosty American-style IPA—enjoy!

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Homestyle Chili

Our classic beef chili is made with premium beans, rich tomato sauce, chile peppers and onions for just the right amount of spicy kick. Top with a dollop of sour cream, chopped onion and grated cheese—excellent with cornbread and honey butter!

Cornbread Mix

This housemade mix produces a light, old-fashioned style cornbread with the natural sweetness of corn. For best results, bake in a preheated cast-iron skillet—delicious with the honey butter from your box this week!

Honey Butter

Made from golden wildflower honey from Bella Luna Farms and organic sweet butter.

Fresh Raisin Bread

Made using a natural starter, cinnamon and moist, chewy Flame raisins, this freshly-baked loaf is from our favorite bakery in nearby Snohomish.

Pelican Brewing Beak Breaker Double India Pale Ale

This American-style IPA from Pacific City, Oregon-based Pelican Brewing is packed with five different varieties of hops—Magnum, Mosaic, Citra, Centennial and Cascade—to deliver an incredibly-aromatic ale with notes of red ruby grapefruit and sweet pine. Cheers!

Farm Fresh Eggs

Our small flock of heritage breed laying hens are on an early-to-bed, later-to-rise schedule with the shorter daylight hours. As they spend more time snug in their coop, the “girls” are enjoying an extra helping of grain to supplement their diet, continuing to give us fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown, blue and green.

Smoky Blue Cheese Dip

Made with fresh herbs, garlic and gorgeous smoked blue cheese, this creamy dip is equally delicious served with potato chips or crisp crudité.

Fresh Fruit

Honeycrisp apples and juicy Cara Cara oranges.

Seasonal Organic Greens

Collard greens and beautiful baby spinach.

Seasonal Organic Vegetables

This week’s produce selection also includes golden beets, carrots, onions, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, Lacinato kale, red Swiss chard and leeks.

Fresh Garden Herbs

Fresh thyme, rosemary and garlic from the walled garden and greenhouse at Bella Luna Farms.

Seattle Chocolates ‘Rainy Day’ Espresso Chocolate Bar

This luscious dark chocolate bar from local chocolatier Seattle Chocolates is infused with fresh-ground Northwest espresso—it’s the perfect post-game pick-me-up!
