What’s In The Box? March 29 – April 4

Soup’s On
What a wet spring it has been so far: Rid yourself of the rainy day blues this week with our hearty housemade chicken posole soup crafted with Bella Luna chicken stock, chili peppers and hominy, plus sun-dried tomato Pomodoro bread and all the fixings for a bright Cara Cara orange and honey-lime salad to serve alongside. The week’s provisions also include spring produce such as cauliflower, radishes and golden beets, Portuguese white wine and a decadent dark chocolate and sea salt bar to enjoy for dessert. Enjoy!

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Chicken Posole

Crafted in the farmhouse kitchen from diced onions, smoky chili peppers, hominy and fresh herbs, plus roasted chicken and homemade stock this traditional soul-soothing soup is a tonic on wet spring days. Be sure to garnish each bowl with chopped cilantro and a squeeze of lime!

Pomodoro Loaf

Flecked with flavorful sun-dried tomatoes and herbs, plus a hint of sea salt, this savory loaf is baked just for us by our favorite bakery in Snohomish.

Caves de Cerca Fâmega Vinho Verde

This young Portuguese wine is made from a beautiful blend of 50% Arinto, 30% Loureiro and 20% Trajadura grapes grown in the magnificent valleys of Tâmega and Douro, which are protected by the Marão and Alvão mountains. Balanced and incredibly versatile in its pairings, the finished wine boasts delicate minerality and fresh fruit aroma.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Spending their time dodging raindrops on wet spring days, our heritage breed laying hens are now also enjoying the tasty green popweed we pull from the garden, in turn supplying us with eggs in beautiful shades of brown, blue and green.

Fresh Fruit

Cara Cara oranges and limes.

Seasonal Organic Greens

Peppery arugula greens.

Seasonal Organic Vegetables

This week’s produce selection also includes sweet onions, baby red potatoes, cauliflower, radishes, golden beets and broccolini.

Fresh Garden Herbs

Fresh Italian parsley, thyme, shallots and garlic.
