What’s In The Box? May 16-22

Spring Brunch
Wake up to the fresh flavors of spring with a delivery highlighted by Skagit River Ranch breakfast sausages, cinnamon-raisin bread, duck eggs and lovely, lilac-hued chive blossoms. This lineup is sure to delight any diner at your table, also including the first of the cherry tomatoes, our own lemon-caper dressing to drizzle over roasted cauliflower and pungent herbs like thyme, oregano and even lovage, the stems of which make perfect straws for homemade Bloody Marys (see recipes for details). Cheers!

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Skagit River Ranch Breakfast Sausage

With a flavor profile that includes hints of sweet maple syrup and savory spices, this incredible breakfast sausage is made from all-natural pork raised on the Skagit River Ranch in Sedro-Woolley. These pampered pigs roam outdoors in certified-organic pasture land to root and dig, thriving on a diet of flax seed, corn and wheat.

Lemon-Caper Dressing

Handcrafted in our farmhouse kitchen with freshly-squeezed lemon juice, olive oil and briny capers, this bright dressing is excellent drizzled over roasted cauliflower florets!

Chive Blossoms

This week, enjoy one of our favorite spring ingredients: Chive blossoms. These beautiful flowers are especially versatile—incorporate them into a bright vinegar for salad dressings or use them to finish a spring salad.

Fresh Raisin Bread

Made with natural starter, cinnamon and moist, chewy Flame raisins, this freshly-baked loaf is from our favorite bakery in nearby Snohomish.

La Petite Perrière Rosé

Boasting a beautiful pale salmon hue, this easy-going Rosé from France is fresh and clean with a soft, silky texture, plus notes of raspberries, strawberries, red currants and violets.

Crème Fraîche

Crafted in our farmstead creamery from pasteurized organic sweet cream, our rich and silky crème fraîche adds a beautiful finishing touch to eggs, salad dressings and more.

Cherry Valley Dairy Cultured Butter with Gray Sea Salt

This silky-smooth butter from Duvall-based Cherry Valley Dairy combines sweet, grassy butter with artisan gray sea salt for a flavor profile that wows.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Busy scratching through the straw mulch in their spacious outdoor run looking for tasty bugs and worms on nice days, our heritage breed laying hens are also thoroughly enjoying a bounty of sprouting seeds and spring popweed, in turn supplying us with fresh eggs in beautiful shades of blues, green and brown.

Duck Eggs

With near-transparent egg whites and color-rich oversize yolks, these pastured duck eggs are a chef’s dream, lending flavorful appeal to a variety of dishes.

Blueberry Jam

Our housemade jam is crafted from juicy Northwest blueberries hand-picked each morning during peak season.

Seasonal Organic Greens

Salad greens, salad mix and microgreens.

Seasonal Organic Vegetables & Fruit

This week’s produce selection also includes lemons, plus Hakurei turnips, Easter Egg and French Breakfast radishes, broccoli raab, cauliflower, purple and red baby potatoes and the first of the local cherry tomatoes from Hedlin Farms.

Fresh Garden Herbs

Lovage, thyme and oregano from the walled garden and greenhouse at Bella Luna Farms.
