What’s In The Box? November 14-20

Rise n’ Shine
Good morning! Wake up to this week’s menu of farmhouse favorites, which has everything you need to whip up a luxurious and leisurely weekend brunch. The lineup comprised of locally-roasted coffee, velvety Vache cheese, organic breakfast sausage patties, cinnamon-raisin bread, cranberry orange scones, and farm-fresh eggs is complemented by fragrant herbs, beautiful radicchio and greens, and a medley of fall mushrooms, plus Bella Luna orchard apples, carrots, sweet Italian peppers, and winter citrus like Cara Cara oranges, lemons and limes. Enjoy!

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Skagit River Ranch Breakfast Sausages

With a flavor profile that includes hints of sweet maple syrup and savory spices, these incredible breakfast sausage patties are made from the all-natural pork raised on the Skagit River Ranch in Sedro-Woolley. These pampered pigs roam outdoors in certified-organic pasture land to root and dig, thriving on a diet of flax seed, corn and wheat.

Fall Mushrooms

Enjoy a medley of earthy mushrooms this week; it includes: Black Trumpet, golden Chanterelle, and button varieties.

Cinnamon Raisin Bread & Cranberry Orange Scones

Baked just for us by our favorite local bakery, this fresh-baked cinnamon raisin loaf makes for a delicious base to French toast. Also included for your brunch pleasure: Sweet-tart cranberry orange scones.

Island Time Coffee

Crafted specifically for the Northwest aesthetic, Island Time Coffee Company sources only the finest, farm-direct, sustainable coffee beans from Latin America and Indonesia. All of the Whidbey Island-based company’s coffee blends are roasted in small batches to ensure the best possible freshness.

Clos des Lumières L’éclat Côtes du Rhône Rouge 2022

This refreshing French Rosé is crafted from a medley of Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault and Mourvedre grapes that give the wine a very fine nose dominated by hints of strawberry, pink grapefruit and cherry.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Our small flock of heritage breed laying hens gives us fresh eggs each day in beautiful shades of brown, cream and green. With the much shorter days of fall, the girls are up with the sun to start the day, anxious to head outside where they still enjoy roaming if it isn’t raining too much! Bedtime is coming much earlier now, as we see them heading into their house to roost as the sun is going down.

Samish Bay Vache Cheese

This certified-organic, 200-acre dairy farm in Skagit County produces gorgeous artisan cheeses crafted from the milk of their herd of Milking Shorthorn cows. This particular soft cheese is similar in style to a goat cheese, but crafted from cow’s milk; creamy, velvety and versatile, it is wonderful added into salads or spread atop crostini.

Mamnoon Mama Pita Chips

Thick and crunchy pita chips made by Mamnoon in Seattle from their famous house-made Arabic bread.

Organic Greens

Enjoy a beautiful mix of chicories this week with a colorful selection that includes both pink-hued Rosalba and speckled Variegated Chioggia radicchio varieties. A beautiful mix of lettuces, salad mix and spinach green are also included.

Seasonal Organic Fruit & Vegetables

This week’s produce selection also includes: Huckleberry Gold potatoes, Sweet yellow onions, carrots, and sweet Italian peppers, plus Bella Luna orchard apples, limes, Cara Cara oranges, and lemons.

Garden-Grown Herbs

Italian parsley and thyme, from the garden at Bella Luna.
