How it Works

First of all, how does it work? A handcrafted wooden box will be hand-delivered to your doorstep, where it will remain throughout the duration of your subscription. This is where your weekly Farm & Larder goods will be placed each week.

Father’s Day Cookout

Fire up the barbecue and gather round to celebrate the fathers in your life with this week’s summery menu. Highlighted by Skagit River Ranch bratwurst, Britt’s riesling sauerkraut, Gruyère cheese bread, and our house-blend dry grill rub, plus Huckleberry Gold potatoes, sugar snap peas, asparagus, microgreens and more, these classics are also accented by a bevy of beautiful summer greens, farm-fresh eggs, and garden-grown herbs—plenty of provisions to whip up a meal worthy of dear old dad.

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Skagit River Ranch Bratwurst
The pampered pigs raised on this farm in Sedro-Woolley roam outdoors in certified organic pastureland to root, dig, and cavort, thriving on a diet of flaxseed, corn and wheat. This week, enjoy the all-natural pork in the ranch’s perfectly-spiced bratwurst.

Britt’s Riesling Sauerkraut
Crafted from green cabbage, sweet onion, sea salt and yes, Riesling wine, this zippy sauerkraut from Langley, Washington’s Britt’s Fermented Foods is full of healthy probiotics and is wonderful served with this week’s brats. (Fun fact: The first sauerkraut was actually from China and used rice wine! Sauerkraut was introduced to Europe by the Huns when they came on horseback and became a staple in German cuisine when they combined salt and water with their cabbage to ferment and thereby preserve it.)

Gruyère Cheese Bread & Congo Bars
Made in nearby Snohomish by our favorite bakery, this freshly-baked loaf balances sweet, nutty Gruyère with a light, crisp crust. Absolutely wonderful re-warmed in the oven—just sprinkle with a few drops of water and bake at 350° for about 15 minutes. Also included in your delivery: Chocolate-kissed Congo bars!

Dragon Head’s Russet Cider
Made from a blend of five different russeted apple varieties, this crisp cider is crafted orchard-to-bottle by the family-run Dragon’s Head Cider company located on Vashon Island. An aromatic medium bodied cider, it features confectionary notes, zesty pomelo flavors, and a lovely lingering finish.

House-Blend Grill Rub
Made with a mixture of savory spices including garlic, thyme and smoked sea salt, our house-blend is excellent rubbed on chicken, beef, fish and even seasonal vegetables—think bell pepper slices, sweet onion rounds or corn on the cob!

Farm Fresh Eggs
Our small flock of heritage breed laying hens is made up of three breeds: Black Copper Maran, Ameraucana, and Delaware. As they spend more time outdoors in the sun, they also enjoy produce trimmings and fresh greens to supplement their diet of organic layer mash, and continue to give us fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown, beige and cream.

Seasonal Organic Greens
This week’s delivery of beautiful greens features purple radish microgreens and Little Gem lettuce.

Seasonal Organic Fruit & Vegetables
This week’s produce selection also includes: Huckleberry Gold potatoes, red onions, Hakurei turnips, red radishes, sugar snap peas and asparagus.

Garden-Grown Herbs
Cilantro from the walled garden.
