What's in the box this week?

Summer’s Sweet Spot

There are certain moments in the growing season that feel like a reward for all the waiting, and the arrival of summer’s first tomatoes is surely one of them. This week’s Farm & Larder box celebrates that sweet spot of the season, when sun-ripened heirloom and cherry tomatoes share the stage with fragrant basil, sweet summer apricots, crisp greens, farm-fresh eggs, Bellsong Creamery cheese, and an abundance of beautiful vegetables. Whether you’re planning a backyard 4th of July gathering, or a simple dinner on the porch, this week’s box offers a delicious taste of summer at its peak.

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Tomatoes!
If there is a flavor that truly sings of summer, it may be a perfectly ripe tomato. This week’s beautiful heirloom slicing and heirloom cherry varieties offer everything we love about the season: vibrant color, sun-warmed sweetness, and that unmistakable balance of acidity and richness that only summer tomatoes can deliver. Simple, abundant, and fleeting, they are one of the season’s greatest gifts.

Rosemary Garlic Bread
Kissed with fragrant rosemary, flavorful garlic, and flecks of sea salt, this lovely freshly-baked loaf from our favorite local bakery makes for lovely crostini, toast, or even sandwich bread.

Ravoire et Fils Domaine des Bellugues Rosé Mediterranée 2025
Made by a small family estate named for the fireflies that live around the vineyard (bellegues means “spark”), this French rosé bursts with fresh fruit flavors and a crisp, bright acidity.

Bellsong Creamery Ricottone
This pillowy soft cheese is crafted solely from the whey of our other cheeses. Creamy with a slight tang and a bit of sweetness, our Ricottone is ladled into traditional Italian baskets. We recommend enjoying it fresh within a few days for the best flavor; it is lovely served atop slices of toasted crostini with a drizzle of honey!

Farm Fresh Eggs
Our small flock of heritage-breed Black Copper Maran, Ameraucana, and Delaware hens provide us with fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown and green. With the long days of summer, they are enjoying lots of time outside in their run, pecking, scratching, and soaking up the sunshine.

Seasonal Organic Greens
Enjoy a plethora of crisp summer greens this week, including baby lettuce and Bietola Swiss chard.

Fresh Apricots
With their sunny color, floral aroma, and sweet-tart flavor, apricots are one of summer’s true treasures. Delicious fresh, grilled, baked, or preserved, they bring a bright burst of flavor to both sweet and savory dishes. Their brief season makes each bite all the more special.

Fresh Organic Fruit & Vegetables
This week’s produce selection also includes carrots, Arrowhead cabbage, mixed radishes, red Italian Torpedo onions, beets, and fennel.

Garden-Grown Herbs
Genovese basil, thyme, rosemary, chives, Italian parsley and mint from the walled garden and middle field here at Bella Luna.
