How it Works

First of all, how does it work? A handcrafted wooden box will be hand-delivered to your doorstep, where it will remain throughout the duration of your subscription. This is where your weekly Farm & Larder goods will be placed each week.

Harvest Brights & Summer Bites

This week’s box is a celebration of late-summer abundance, brimming with vibrant produce and farmstead staples. You’ll find sweet corn, juicy cherry tomatoes, fingerling potatoes, tender carrots, summer squash, and jewel-toned purple kohlrabi—a colorful palette for your table. To accompany the harvest, we’ve included: a classic Pain au Levain from our favorite Snohomish bakery; our heritage-breed hens continue to provide richly flavored eggs in soft shades of brown and cream; and, radicchio offers a slightly bitter, beautifully hued contrast in salads. Nectarines and blueberries bring a bright, fruity finish, and a fragrant bundle of mixed garden herbs ties it all together.

Here’s what you’ll find your box this week:

Late Summer Harvest
This week, enjoy such bright and beautiful late-summer produce as: Sweet corn, mixed cherry tomatoes, Jerada carrots, purple sprouting broccoli, banana fingerling potatoes, summer squash, Walla Walla sweet and red onions, and purple kohlrabi.

Pain au Levain Bread
This slightly-nutty, slightly-sweet sourdough baguette epitomizes French country-style baking with a chewy crust and light, airy interior. Baked by our favorite bakery in Snohomish, this traditional Pain au Levain is crafted using the bakery’s own sourdough starter.

Dragon’s Head Rosé Cider
This Rosé Cider is created from a unique blend of red fleshed apple varieties, including Redfield apples from the cidery’s orchard located on Vashon Island. Unlike typical apple trees, in the spring, the blossoms on the Redfield trees are bright pink, the leaves are a reddish bronze, and amazingly the flesh of these beautiful apples is red. When the apples are pressed, the juice is a crimson color that lightens and clears into the blush rosé that you see in the bottle. Bright and fruity, this cider is certainly unique for its color but also delicious in flavor.

Farm Fresh Eggs
Our small flock of laying hens is made up of three heritage breeds: Black Copper Maran, Ameraucana, and Delaware. As they spend plenty of time outdoors in nice weather, they are also enjoying garden trimmings to supplement their diet as they continue to give us fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown, green, beige and cream.

Fresh Bellsong Creamery Chevre
Creamy, smooth and decadent, this week’s chevre cheese is a true farmstead favorite. Crafted from whole goat’s milk, it adds rich, robust mouthfeel to salads and more.

Seasonal Organic Greens
Palla Rossa radicchio, a gorgeous Italian heirloom variety known for its compact, deep-red heads with white veins, as well as Lusia radicchio.

Fresh Organic Fruit
This week’s fruit selection includes nectarines and blueberries.

Garden-Grown Herbs
A fragrant mixed bundle of fresh herbs from the walled garden and hoophouse.
