How it Works

First of all, how does it work? A handcrafted wooden box will be hand-delivered to your doorstep, where it will remain throughout the duration of your subscription. This is where your weekly Farm & Larder goods will be placed each week.

This week’s box is a celebration of the season’s early richness, from forest to field. Savor the earthy elegance of Chanterelles, Lobster mushrooms, Chicken of the Woods, and Hedgehogs—perfect for sautés, soups, or roasting. Fresh vegetables like purple kohlrabi, Jimmy Nardello peppers, and red beets add brightness to the box, while a rare appearance of locally grown huckleberries brings a dash of tart-sweetness. Also included: rustic and nutty wild rice bread from New Day Bakery, handmade pasta, and beautiful purple garlic and herbs; each ingredient is a taste of the season’s bounty, ready to inspire flavorful dishes all week long.

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Seasonal Mushrooms
This week’s box celebrates the earthy elegance of early fall with a stunning selection of seasonal mushrooms: golden Chanterelles, tender Lobster mushrooms, meaty Chicken of the Woods, and delicate Hedgehogs. Each variety brings its own depth and character—perfect for sautés, soups, or roasting to highlight their rich, nutty, and slightly sweet flavors.

Lagana Foods Vesuvio Pasta
The fresh pasta from Lagana Foods is hand-crafted in Seattle using sustainably grown Shepherd’s Grain flour and water, and cut to shape using Old World-style bronze dies. Named after the spiraling slopes of Italy’s Mount Vesuvius, this Vesuvio pasta features tight curls and deep ridges that hold onto sauces beautifully; rustic, yet refined, it will pair beautifully with this week’s medley of mushrooms.

New Day Bakery Wild Rice Bread
Nutty, hearty, and deeply satisfying, New Day Bakery’s wild rice bread is a rustic favorite that’s perfect for everything from morning toast to savory sandwiches. Each loaf is studded with chewy grains, offering a nutty flavor and satisfying texture that celebrates the simplicity and richness of whole grains.

Ravoire et Fils Domaine des Bellugues Rosé Mediterranée 2024
Made by a small family estate named for the fireflies that live around the vineyard (bellegues means “spark”), this French rosé bursts with fresh fruit flavors and a crisp, bright acidity.

Farm Fresh Eggs
Our small flock of laying hens is made up of three heritage breeds: Black Copper Maran, Ameraucana, and Delaware. As they spend plenty of time outdoors in nice weather, they are also enjoying garden trimmings to supplement their diet as they continue to give us fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown, green, beige and cream.

Seasonal Organic Greens
This week’s beautiful selection of greens includes: Escarole, frisée, Sugar Loaf chicory and sunflower microgreens.

Fresh Organic Fruit & Vegetables
This week’s produce selection also includes: Purple kohlrabi, Jimmy Nardello peppers, mixed summer squash, fennel, red beets, and Tropea onions, plus blueberries and wild black huckleberries.

Garden-Grown Herbs
Purple Glazer garlic and a fragrant mixed bundle of fresh herbs from the walled garden and hoophouse.
