How it Works
First of all, how does it work? A handcrafted wooden box will be hand-delivered to your doorstep, where it will remain throughout the duration of your subscription. This is where your weekly Farm & Larder goods will be placed each week.
Hearty Harvest Flavors
This week’s box is inspired by the warm, comforting flavors of early fall in the countryside—a nod to hearty Bavarian fare and the cozy gatherings that mark the harvest season. Think rustic sausages from Skagit River Ranch, fresh artisan pasta, tangy New Day Baking sourdough, and crisp local cider ready to raise a toast. Paired with a charcuterie kit of Bellsong Creamery cheeses and Norcini salami, plus seasonal greens, orchard fruits, and fragrant herbs, this lineup invites you to slow down and savor a meal that feels hearty, homegrown, and celebratory. Prost to fall’s bounty!
Here are a few recipe ideas for the week:
Skagit River Ranch Polish Sausage
The pampered pigs raised on the Skagit River Ranch in Sedro-Woolley roam outdoors in certified-organic pastureland to root, dig, and cavort as only happy pigs can, thriving on a diet of flax seed, corn and wheat. Spiced with savory herbs, these delectable sausages are a hearty accompaniment to any fall meal.
Lagana Foods Pasta
The fresh pasta from this homegrown Seattle purveyor is hand-crafted using sustainably grown Shepherd’s Grain flour and water, and cut to shape using Old World-style bronze dies.
New Day Baking Sourdough Bread
This week’s box includes a beautifully baked loaf of sourdough from New Day Baking, made using wild yeast and a slow fermentation process that develops a deep, nutty flavor and satisfyingly crisp crust. Its hearty texture and tangy depth make it the perfect partner for this week’s German-inspired fare—ideal for soaking up mustardy sauces, pairing with sausages, or serving alongside roasted fall vegetables and earthy root dishes.
Dragon’s Head Wild Fermented Cider
Crafted on Vashon Island, this farmhouse-style cider embraces the art of spontaneity—fermented not with cultivated yeast, but with the wild strains naturally found on the apples themselves. The result is a beautifully rustic, complex cider that captures the true character of the orchard and the spirit of craft that defines Dragon’s Head.
Farm Fresh Eggs
Our small flock of laying hens is made up of three heritage breeds: Black Copper Maran, Ameraucana, and Delaware. As they spend plenty of time outdoors in nice weather, they are also enjoying garden trimmings to supplement their diet as they continue to give us fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown, green, beige and cream.
Bellsong Creamery Charcuterie Kit with Norcino Salami
It’s a match made in heaven: Our own Bellsong Creamery handcrafted cheese plus savory Norcini salami! Enjoy a selection from both this week with this entertaining-ready charcuterie kit.
Seasonal Organic Greens
This week’s beautiful selection of greens includes mixed Chioggia and Lusia radicchio.
Fresh Organic Fruit & Vegetables
This week’s produce selection also includes a harvest bounty of baby carrots, golden Chanterelle mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, Torpedo onions, and cabbage, plus farm pears and apples.
Garden-Grown Herbs
Mixed herbs from the walled garden and hoophouse, as well as red shiso. Also known as aka-jiso or purple perilla, this herb from the mint family boasts a distinctive flavor that combines elements of mint, basil, and clove.
