First of all, how does it work? A handcrafted wooden box will be hand-delivered to your doorstep, where it will remain throughout the duration of your subscription. This is where your weekly Farm & Larder goods will be placed each week.
Sun-Ripened & Ready
Picked at their peak and ready for your table, this week’s Farm & box celebrates everything we love about late summer. From juicy heirloom tomatoes, sweet corn, and fragrant herbs to orchard-fresh peaches, blueberries, and Shiro plums, every ingredient is bursting with seasonal flavor. Paired with handcrafted pasta, rustic Pain au Levain, and farm-fresh eggs, it’s a collection made for easy suppers, leisurely lunches, and soaking up the golden days of the season.
Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:
Lagana Foods Vesuvio Pasta
The fresh pasta from Lagana Foods is hand-crafted in Seattle using sustainably grown Shepherd’s Grain flour and water, and cut to shape using Old World-style bronze dies. Named after the spiraling slopes of Italy’s Mount Vesuvius, this Vesuvio pasta features tight curls and deep ridges that hold onto sauces beautifully.
Pain au Levain Bread
This slightly-nutty, slightly-sweet sourdough bread epitomizes French country-style baking with a chewy crust and light, airy interior. Baked by our favorite bakery in Snohomish, this traditional Pain au Levain is crafted using the bakery’s own sourdough starter.
Foris Rosé of Pinot Noir
Crafted in Southern Oregon’s Rogue Valley, this dry Rosé of Pinot Noir is as refreshing as a summer evening. Delicate floral aromas and notes of melon and orchard fruit give way to bright flavors of pink grapefruit, starfruit, crisp apple, and ripe peach, all balanced by a smooth, creamy texture and a lively citrus finish. It’s the perfect companion to this week’s heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil, seasonal salads, and orchard-fresh fruit.
Farm Fresh Eggs
Our small flock of heritage-breed Black Copper Maran, Ameraucana, and Delaware hens provide us with fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown and green. With the long days of summer, they are enjoying lots of time outside in their run, pecking, scratching, and soaking up the sunshine.
Seasonal Organic Greens
This week’s delivery also includes mixed baby lettuces, escarole and Luisa radicchio.
Summer Fruit
A sweet taste of the season: Bowhill blueberries, Tonnemaker Canadian Harmony peaches, and delicate Shiro plums bring the best of summer’s orchard and berry patch to your table.
Fresh Organic Vegetables
This week’s box provides a summer’s bounty of fresh seasonal produce: heirloom tomatoes, carrots, baby Chioggia beets, cucumbers, Italian zucchini and first-of-the-season bi-color corn.
Garden-Grown Herbs
Fresh basil, German Hardy white garlic, and flat-leaf Italian parsley from the walled garden and middle field here at Bella Luna.
