How it Works

First of all, how does it work? A handcrafted wooden box will be hand-delivered to your doorstep, where it will remain throughout the duration of your subscription. This is where your weekly Farm & Larder goods will be placed each week.

A Little Heat, a Lot of Sweet

This week’s box is bursting with Northwest summer charm—from the playful heat of Shishito peppers to the sun-kissed sweetness of white nectarines and blueberries. Inside you’ll find rustic French sourdough bread to pair with juicy heirloom tomatoes, a rainbow of fresh veggies ready for roasting or grilling, fragrant herbs to boost up the flavor, gorgeous garden greens for salad-making, and eggs from our happy hens who’ve been feasting on summer greens, too. It’s the kind of box that practically plans the meals for you—just add a glass of perry!

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Shishito Peppers
These little green gems may look fiery, but don’t be fooled—Shishito peppers are mostly mild, with just the occasional spicy surprise! Simply toss them in a hot skillet with a splash of oil and a sprinkle of flaky salt for an irresistible snack or side. Their blistered, smoky flavor pairs perfectly with grilled meats, rice bowls, or a cold drink on the patio.

Pain au Levain Bread
This slightly-nutty, slightly-sweet sourdough bread loaf epitomizes French country-style baking with a chewy crust and light, airy interior. Baked by our favorite bakery in Snohomish, this traditional Pain au Levain is crafted using the bakery’s own sourdough starter.

Dragon’s Head Cider Perry
Made with 100-percent pears, this perry features seedling pears that are unique to Vashon Island, harvested from trees that were likely planted by homesteaders around 100 years ago. These Vashon pears are blended with true English perry pears to create a sip that has a subtle sweetness, a delicate pear flavor, and lovely round tannins.

Farm Fresh Eggs
Our small flock of heritage breed laying hens is made up of three heritage breeds: Black Copper Maran, Ameraucana, and Delaware. As they spend plenty of time outdoors in the summer sun, they are also enjoying garden trimmings to supplement their diet as they continue to give us fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown, beige and cream.

Seasonal Organic Greens
This week’s incredible delivery of greens features Chioggia and Lusia radicchio.

Seasonal Fruit
Plump locally-grown blueberries, peaches, and white nectarines.

Fresh Organic Vegetables
This week’s produce selection also includes baby Chioggia beets, baby carrots, Walla Walla sweet onions, Persian cucumbers, mixed summer squash, fennel and heirloom tomatoes.

Garden-Grown Herbs
Mixed herbs and edible flowers from the farm.
