How it Works

First of all, how does it work? A handcrafted wooden box will be hand-delivered to your doorstep, where it will remain throughout the duration of your subscription. This is where your weekly Farm & Larder goods will be placed each week.

Fresh for the Fourth

From the hoophouse to the herb beds, the orchards to the vegetable plots, our gardens are bursting to life with fresh produce! This week, you’ll find a wealth of fresh, summer ingredients to incorporate into your holiday weekend grilling, including gorgeous apricots, fragrant fennel, Huckleberry gold potatoes, super-crunchy radicchio, crisp Little Gem lettuces, and more. Garden-grown herbs and fresh eggs from our heritage-breed laying hens, as well as local duck eggs, Pain au Levain bread, edible flowers, and Skagit River Ranch polish sausage links, all help round-out this vibrant lineup. Happy 4th of July!

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Skagit River Ranch Polish Sausage
The pampered pigs raised on the Skagit River Ranch in Sedro-Woolley roam outdoors in certified-organic pastureland to root, dig, and cavort as only happy pigs can, thriving on a diet of flax seed, corn and wheat. Spiced with savory herbs, these delectable sausages links are a hearty accompaniment to this week’s selection of summery fare.

Pain au Levain Bread
This slightly-nutty, slightly-sweet sourdough bread epitomizes French country-style baking with a chewy crust and light, airy interior. Baked by our favorite bakery in Snohomish, this traditional Pain au Levain is crafted using the bakery’s own sourdough starter.

Lenz Moser Grüner Veltliner
A deep gold white with aromas of citrus, pear, honey, and melon along with tastes of apple pear and peach, this medium bodied wine pairs well with summery salads.

Farm Fresh Eggs
Our small flock of heritage breed laying hens is made up of three breeds: Black Copper Maran, Ameraucana, and Delaware. As they spend plenty of time outdoors in the sun, they are also enjoying garden trimmings and fresh greens to supplement their diet of organic layer mash as they continue to give us fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown, beige and cream.

Duck Eggs
With near-transparent egg whites and color-rich oversize yolks, these local duck eggs are a chef’s dream, lending flavorful appeal to a variety of dishes.

Seasonal Organic Greens
This week’s delivery of beautiful greens features di Luisa radicchio and Little Gem lettuces.

Fresh Organic Fruit & Vegetables
This week’s produce selection includes: Fennel, Huckleberry Gold potatoes, scallions and gorgeous summer apricots.

Garden-Grown Herbs
Italian flat-leaf parsley and a mixed herb bundle from the walled garden.

Edible Flowers
Bright, cheery edible flowers to add color and spice to your salads.
