How it Works
First of all, how does it work? A handcrafted wooden box will be hand-delivered to your doorstep, where it will remain throughout the duration of your subscription. This is where your weekly Farm & Larder goods will be placed each week.
Summer Splendor
No matter how you pronounce it, the word ‘tomato’ practically sings of summer, as well it should as the seasonal beauties are now at their best. This week’s box pays homage to the ripe, juicy summer favorite with a selection of heirloom tomatoes, plus rosemary sea salt bread, beautiful baby zucchini with their accompanying blossoms, farm-fresh eggs, garden-grown herbs and an easy-drinking French Rosé, all to help you enjoy their vine-ripened glory. An additional wealth of summer produce ranging from baby carrots to eggplant completes this bright and beautiful lineup.
Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:
Mixed Heirloom Tomatoes
Locally-grown heirloom tomatoes are here, and they are just waiting to be enjoyed in your burgers, sandwiches, salads, and more.
Baby Zucchini with Blossoms
Along with this week’s darling baby zucchini come their dainty, edible orange flowers perfect for frying! These blossoms are a true seasonal delicacy—delicate, slightly sweet, and beautifully versatile.
New Day Baking Rosemary Sea Salt Bread
Kissed with fragrant rosemary and flecks of sea salt, this lovely freshly-baked loaf makes for lovely crostini, toast, or even sandwich bread.
Girl Meets Dirt Chili Lime & Tomato Shrub
This sweet, spicy, and sour syrup is made with tomatoes, chilies, lime, and vinegar. A modern take on a colonial recipe for preserving fruit juice, this unique syrup is lovely in cocktails like Bloody Marys or spicy margaritas, or you can also enjoy it as a refreshing tonic with sparkling water or mixed with spirits and other ingredients.
Château Saint-Roch Old Vines Rosé
This gorgeous French rosé wine is known for its bright fruit flavors, balanced acidity, and minerality, reflecting the influence of black slate soils in the Roussillon region. Crafted from a blend of Grenache and Syrah, it offers up aromas of strawberry, thyme, and citrus, with a creamy texture and a succulent, focused finish.
Farm Fresh Eggs
Our small flock of heritage breed laying hens is made up of three heritage breeds: Black Copper Maran, Ameraucana, and Delaware. As they spend plenty of time outdoors in the sun, they are also enjoying garden trimmings to supplement their diet as they continue to give us fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown, beige and cream.
Seasonal Organic Greens
This week’s incredible delivery of greens features Tom Thumb mini butter lettuce, red veined sorrel, microgreens, di Lusia radicchio and Palla Rossa radicchio.
Fresh Organic Fruit & Vegetables
This week’s produce selection also includes Cheshire Rose potatoes, baby carrots, eggplant, and Walla Walla sweet onions, plus yellow nectarines.
Garden-Grown Herbs
Fragrant mixed herbs including thyme, basil, tarragon, thyme, golden oregano and anise hyssop, plus edible flowers.
