How it Works
First of all, how does it work? A handcrafted wooden box will be hand-delivered to your doorstep, where it will remain throughout the duration of your subscription. This is where your weekly Farm & Larder goods will be placed each week.
Fall’s Fresh Start
The first week of fall brings a table full of abundance, with late-summer favorites mingling alongside the season’s first cool-weather treasures. From vibrant heirloom tomatoes and sweet peppers to crisp Hakurei turnips, red cabbage, and tender greens, this week’s box is a celebration of color and flavor. Rustic Pain au Levain bread, hand-crafted, locally-made pasta, farm-fresh eggs, and fragrant herbs round out the offerings, ready to be transformed into comforting meals that honor both summer’s last blush and autumn’s welcome arrival.
Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:
White & Golden Chanterelle Mushrooms
This week’s box includes one of fall’s most prized finds: delicate white and golden chanterelles. These forest treasures are foraged at their peak, with a buttery aroma and earthy flavor that shines simply sautéed in butter, folded into risotto, or layered over toast. A true seasonal delicacy, Chanterelles bring the magic of the woods straight to your table.
Lagana Foods Vesuvio Pasta
The fresh pasta from Lagana Foods is hand-crafted in Seattle using sustainably grown Shepherd’s Grain flour and water, and cut to shape using Old World-style bronze dies. Named after the spiraling slopes of Italy’s Mount Vesuvius, this Vesuvio pasta features tight curls and deep ridges that hold onto sauces beautifully.
Pain au Levain Bread
This slightly-nutty, slightly-sweet sourdough baguette epitomizes French country-style baking with a chewy crust and light, airy interior. Baked by our favorite bakery in Snohomish, this traditional Pain au Levain is crafted using the bakery’s own sourdough starter.
Protocolo Tempranillo 2022
Crafted from 100% organically grown Tempranillo and gently aged three months in oak, this vibrant Spanish red opens with aromas of crushed red berries, rose petals, and a hint of spice. The palate is smooth and dry yet juicy, with blackberry and cherry flavors layered over subtle vanilla and a whisper of oak on the finish.
Farm Fresh Eggs
Our small flock of laying hens is made up of three heritage breeds: Black Copper Maran, Ameraucana, and Delaware. As they spend plenty of time outdoors in nice weather, they are also enjoying garden trimmings to supplement their diet as they continue to give us fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown, green, beige and cream.
Seasonal Organic Greens
This week’s beautiful selection of greens includes: Cantaloupe shoots and mixed radicchio.
Fresh Organic Fruit & Vegetables
This week’s produce selection also includes: Heirloom tomatoes, celery, red cabbage, mixed sweet peppers, Persian cucumbers, mixed summer squash, cherry tomatoes and Hakurei turnips.
Garden-Grown Herbs
Fresh flat-leaf Italian parsley and a bundle of fragrant mixed herbs from the walled garden and hoophouse.
