What’s In The Box? April 26-May 2

Spring in Swing
The arrival of May on Tuesday means spring truly is in full swing as we are daily reminded thanks to recent warm days and the various crops ripening in the garden. This week, enjoy spring in all its glory with a wonderful assortment of produce ranging from French breakfast radishes and red cabbage raab to baby Chioggia beets and herbs like parsley, mint and thyme. Also included: Fresh rhubarb and almond crisp topping, plus all the fixins’ for a bright and light pasta primavera kissed with rich and silky crème fraîche. Enjoy!

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Fresh Bucatini Pasta

Hand-crafted in nearby Bellingham, this spaghetti-like semolina pasta has a hole running through the center—hence the name bucatini, which comes from the Italian buco, meaning “hole”, while bucato means “pierced”. Try it this week tossed with a bevy of lightly sautéed spring veggies like baby carrots, leeks and freshly-shelled peas.

Fresh Multigrain Bread

Made in downtown Snohomish by our favorite local bakery, this round loaf is made with locally-milled Shepherd’s Grain flour and 7 different whole grains, plus hints of honey and toasted sunflower seeds.

La Vieille Ferme Rosé 2017

Pretty pale pink with pastel undertones, this gorgeous French Rosé is crafted from a distinct blend of Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah grapes to lend a beautiful balance of sweetness and acidity on the palette. The fresh and aromatic nose helps it to pair well with seasonal produce as it boasts notes of red fruit, flowers and citrus.

Crème Fraîche

Crafted in our farmstead creamery from pasteurized organic sweet cream, our rich and silky crème fraîche adds a beautiful finishing touch to pasta.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Spending their time dodging raindrops on wet spring days, our heritage breed laying hens are now also enjoying the tasty green popweed we pull from the garden, in turn supplying us with eggs in beautiful shades of brown, blue and green.

Almond Fruit Crisp Topping

Wonderful paired with this week’s spring rhubarb, our signature fruit crisp topping is crafted from organic cane sugar, ground almonds, almond flour and sweet butter.

Fresh Fruit

Citrusy lemons and gorgeous ruby-red rhubarb.

Seasonal Organic Greens

A peppery Mesclun mix with spring pea shoots.

Seasonal Organic Produce

This week’s produce selection also includes French breakfast radishes, leeks, cauliflower, red cabbage raab, English shelling peas, Savoy cabbage rapini, baby Chioggia beets and baby carrots.

Fresh Garden Herbs

Italian flat-leaf parsley, thyme, mint, shallots and garlic.
