What’s In The Box? July 20-26

Laidback Lunch
There’s nothing quite like a lazy July lunch spent lingering over the freshest flavors of the season while also enjoying a hearty dose of those blissful summer rays. This week’s box has you all set for such an experience with a soup and salad-ready lineup starring our housemade chili con carne—crafted from organic grass-fed beef, pinto beans and a signature blend of spices—plus, sea salt-kissed Pomodoro bread, a French Rosé and all the ingredients to whip up a white polenta-topped peach cobbler for dessert. Enjoy!

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Housemade Chili Con Carne

Slow-simmered with premium dried pinto beans, our classic-style chili boasts a wonderful depth of flavor and a smoky-spicy kick, crafted from organic grass-fed beef, fresh garlic, onions, roasted peppers and green chiles, plus our own special seasoning blend.

Pomodoro Loaf

Flecked with flavorful sun-dried tomatoes and herbs, plus a hint of sea salt, this savory loaf is baked just for us by our favorite bakery in Snohomish.

Le Charmel Côtes de Provence Rosé

This estate wine is produced near Bandol, France along the Mediterranean coast. The grapes are cultivated on picturesque Provençal hillsides, then manually picked, hand-sorted and fully de-stemmed on site. The nose boasts beautiful aromas of raspberries and wild flowers and the palate is wonderfully bright and fresh with notes of strawberry and pear.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Our small flock of heritage breed laying hens gives us fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown and green. As we hit midsummer, the “girls” are enjoying the long summer afternoons and accompanying warm evenings, chasing bugs and eating tasty green weeds we pull from the garden.

White Polenta Cobbler Crust Mix & Cherry-Almond Topping

This dynamic duo will help you craft the perfect summer peach cobbler: Mix the beautiful white polenta cobbler crust mix with the ingredients outlined in the enclosed recipe, then top with our signature cherry-almond topping crafted from organic cane sugar, ground almonds, sweet butter, and dried cherries.

Ripe Summer Fruit

Attika cherries and yellow semi-cling peaches.

Seasonal Organic Vegetables

This week’s produce selection also includes baby zucchini, Hakurei turnips, fennel, baby orange carrots, red radishes, Piracicaba broccoli and cucumbers.

Seasonal Organic Greens

Red butter lettuce and escarole.

Fresh Garden Herbs

Fresh Italian parsley, mint, oregano, shallots and garlic.
