What’s In The Box? March 15-21

St. Patrick’s Day Feast
Just in time for St. Paddy’s Day and the arrival of spring on Tuesday, this week’s box bursts to life with beautiful spring ‘greenery’—from green cabbage and leeks to Swiss chard and garden-fresh herbs. Complementing this beautiful bounty are all the ingredients for a feast inspired by the Emerald Isle: Housemade potato-leek soup and traditional Irish soda bread, plus flaky smoked salmon, Sauk Farm apple cider and a dark, luscious dry Irish stout ale. As they say in Ireland, sláinte (to your good health)!`

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Housemade Potato-Leek Soup

Fresh leeks and creamy golden potatoes pair beautifully in this soul-soothing soup, crafted in our farmhouse kitchen with savory fresh herbs, Bella Luna chicken stock, sea salt and cracked pepper. Serve with chopped herbs as garnish alongside Irish soda bread for dipping!

Irish Soda Bread

Baked in nearby Snohomish by our favorite bakery, this beloved quick bread is crafted in the traditional style with buttermilk, flour, sugar and egg.

Lummi Island Wild Smoked Salmon

Tender and perfectly flaky, this top-quality salmon fished fresh from the Fraser River retains its lovely moisture thanks to a low-salt recipe and light alder smoke.

Breckenridge Brewery Nitro Dry Irish Stout

Partnering with Boundary Brewing Cooperative of Belfast, Northern Ireland, Breckenridge Brewery created this traditional Dry Irish Stout with dark character and a classic, creamy body. Roasted barley, flaked barley and Irish Stout Malt also give this incredibly-dark and luscious beer flavors of coffee and hints of grain.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Spending their time dodging raindrops on wet, almost-spring days, our heritage breed laying hens are now also enjoying the tasty green popweed we pull from the garden, in turn supplying us with eggs in beautiful shades of brown, blue and green.

Sauk Farm Honeycrisp Apple Cider

Crafted from cold-pressed Honeycrisp apples grown on Sauk Farm in Concrete, Washington, this refreshing cider is delicious served crisp and cold all on its own, or is mixed into your next cocktail.

Blueberry Jam

Made here at Bella Luna in our farmhouse kitchen from our fresh-picked blueberries, organic cane sugar and pectin.

Fresh Fruit

Crisp Pippin apples and bright lemons.

Seasonal Organic Greens

Beautiful baby spinach greens.

Seasonal Organic Vegetables

This week’s produce selection also includes green cabbage, carrots, leeks, Russet potatoes, baby Japanese turnips and Swiss chard.

Fresh Garden Herbs

Fresh Italian parsley, thyme, shallots and garlic.
