What’s In The Box? September 27-October 3

Autumn Brunch
Rise and shine, it’s breakfast time! Gather round the table this weekend with a hearty and satisfying brunch starring fresh, hot-from-the-oven cream biscuits topped with our signature sausage gravy. Complemented by breakfast-ready ingredients such as seasonal pumpkin loaf, cinnamon-raisin bread and farm-fresh eggs, this week’s box also includes turnips, peppers, tomatoes and Chanterelle mushrooms—pour yourself a cup of joe and get cookin’.

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Farm & Larder Sausage Gravy

Crafted in our farmhouse kitchen from all-natural Skagit River Ranch sausage, plus fresh herbs, onions and sweet milk, our signature sausage gravy makes for a very satisfying start to the day—serve over our warm cream biscuits and dig in!

Cream Biscuit Mix

Just add cream! Made from organic flour, sugar and butter, plus aluminum-free baking powder and a dash of sea salt, our savory housemade biscuit mix bakes up light and fluffy. Top hot-from-the-oven biscuits with a slathering of jam or this week’s signature sausage gravy.

Fresh Cinnamon-Raisin Bread

Made with natural starter, cinnamon and moist, chewy Flame raisins, this freshly-baked loaf is from our favorite bakery in nearby Snohomish.

Glazed Pumpkin Spice Loaf

A true taste of the season, this fragrant pumpkin loaf makes for a great addition to this week’s brunch fare.

Finnriver Lavender Black Currant Botanical Cider

Gorgeous served chilled, this semi-sweet cider from popular Olympic Peninsula cider house Finnriver evokes summer’s bounty, crafted with local, organic Royal Velvet lavender and fermented cider made from organic juice pressed from Washington apples.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Our small flock of heritage breed laying hens gives us fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown and green. With shorter days that signal the coming of fall, the girls are up with the sun to roam the outdoors where they still enjoy the warm afternoons.

Chanterelle Mushrooms

With a firm texture and light, delicate flavor, locally foraged Chanterelle mushrooms shine in a variety of dishes, lending earthy appeal to dishes like pastas, risottos and soups. Or, try tossing sautéed ones into a scramble or frittata!

Seasonal Fruit

Ripe and aromatic Asian pears.

Seasonal Organic Greens

Iron-rich spinach greens and Truchas mini red Romaine.

Seasonal Organic Vegetables

This week’s produce selection also includes sweet corn, purple and ivory Bell peppers, heirloom tomatoes, Hakurei turnips, golden beets, purple carrots, leeks, and Sungold cherry tomatoes.

Fresh Garden Herbs

Parsley, basil, mint, rosemary and sage.
