What’s In The Box? August 19-25

Summer Grilling
This week’s array of local summer treasures invites you to bust out the barbecue and get to grilling! Highlighted by bright, colorful produce such as yellow zucchini, cucumbers, peaches, French melon, Walla Walla sweet onions and a plethora of sun-ripened tomatoes, plus pillowy focaccia bread, fragrant herbs and edible flowers, this box is fit for lingering on the patio. Plus, there’s even a mini bouquet of fresh seasonal flowers to help set your table, too. Enjoy!

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Summer Fruit

Beautifully ripe yellow peaches, plus Prescott Fond Blanc Melon. (This cantaloupe is a favorite of the French markets, with a beautifully warted skin and sweet, dense flesh!)

Focaccia Bread

This soft, chewy Italian-style loaf is baked just for us by our favorite local bakery in nearby Snohomish. Kissed with fragrant fresh herbs, it is delicious served warm and dipped in olive oil. This week, we’d also heartily recommend enjoying it as the base for a sandwich that stars beautiful grilled summer veggies—see recipes for details!

Clos des Lumières L’éclat Côtes du Rhône Rouge 2019

This refreshing French Rosé is crafted from a medley of Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault and Mourvedre grapes which give the wine a very fine nose dominated by hints of strawberry, pink grapefruit cherry.
