What’s In The Box? December 10-16

Weekend Breakfast
Put on the coffee pot, pull out a skillet and wake up to this week’s menu of farmhouse favorites: With all-natural breakfast sausages and a dozen farm-fresh eggs to incorporate into your choice of scramble, frittata or quiche (see recipes!), plus our own signature coffee blend, beautiful summer berry preserves and seasonal produce including wild mushrooms, Winterbore kale and Turk’s Turban squash, it has everything you need to whip up an energizing brunch to start your day. Good morning!

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Skagit River Ranch Breakfast Sausage Links

With hints of maple flavor and fragrant spices, this incredible breakfast sausage is made from all-natural pork raised on the Skagit River Ranch in Sedro-Woolley. These pampered pigs roam outdoors in certified-organic pastureland to root and dig, thriving on a diet of flaxseed, corn and wheat.

Cinnamon Raisin Bread

Made with moist, chewy Flame raisins, this freshly-baked loaf from our favorite local bakery in Snohomish makes excellent toast.

Farm & Larder Coffee Blend

Well-rounded with hints of nutty cocoa and a clean, balanced finish, our signature beans are directly sourced from a small estate in South America and then roasted locally by Caffe Lusso in Redmond. To ensure each bean is perfectly toasted, Roastmaster Philip Meech finishes our custom blend in small, twenty-five pound batches on his world-class Diedrich IR-12 roasting machine.

Jules Taylor Grüner Veltliner 2013

With a delicately perfumed nose showing notes of white peach, plum and apple blossom with hints of spice, this easy-drinking white wine is crafted from hand-harvested grapes grown in Marlborough, New Zealand.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Our small flock of heritage breed laying hens gives us fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown, blue and green. See our recipe ideas for tips on how to enjoy the full dozen included this week, from hearty kale frittata to a luscious squash and spinach quiche.

Summer Berry Jam

Our housemade freezer-style jam is crafted in small batches from gorgeous, organic strawberries picked at the height of the summer season. To preserve the wonderful fresh flavor and color, we make this recipe with strawberries, organic sugar, and pectin. (That’s it!)

Fresh Fruit

Crisp Cameo apples and juicy clementines.

Seasonal Organic Vegetables

This week’s produce selection also includes Turk’s Turban squash, Winterbor kale, red French fingerling potatoes, red Cipollini onions, Bolero carrots, Gold Ball turnips and golden beets, plus a trio of locally-foraged Yellowfoot, Black Trumpet and Hedgehog mushrooms.

Seasonal Organic Greens

Iron-rich spinach, plus Castelfranco and Treviso radicchio.

Fresh Garden Herbs

Organically-grown shallots, garlic and rosemary.
