What’s In The Box? February 11-17

Tex-Mex Breakfast
Nothing perks up the taste buds quite like the flavors of the Southwest—enjoy the region’s signature smoky-spicy flavors this week for breakfast with fixings like Skagit River Ranch’s signature chorizo sausage, our cream biscuit mix and farm-fresh eggs, plus dried Guajillo and New Mexico chilis. Accented by Pain au Levain bread, F&L housemade granola and Dutch Hollow Dulcet cheese from Beecher’s, this lineup is sure to provide a satisfying start to your day.

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Skagit River Ranch Chorizo Sausage

This pig has kick! Spiced with cumin, coriander and Ancho chili powder, these flavorful sausage links from our friends at the Skagit River Ranch in Sedro-Woolley are crafted from their famous all-natural pork and make for a spicy addition to a breakfast sandwich or frittata.

F&L Biscuit Mix

Made from organic flour, sugar and butter, plus aluminum-free baking powder and a dash of sea salt, our savory housemade biscuit mix bakes up light and fluffy. Top hot-from-the-oven biscuits with chorizo, a little Dutch Hollow Dulcet cheese and fried eggs to craft some killer breakfast sammies!

Pain au Levain Bread

This slightly-nutty, slightly-sweet sourdough loaf embodies country-style French baking with a chewy crust and light, airy interior. Baked just for us at a small bakery in Snohomish, this traditional Pain au Levain is crafted using the bakery’s own sourdough starter.

Eleven Winery Ratio Blanco 2019

This blended Washington white is bright, fruity and refreshing, with a marvelous aroma combining floral and citrus notes.

Beecher’s Cheese Dutch Hollow Dulcet

Made in Beecher’s New York location, this Dulcet is crafted with Jersey cow milk sourced straight from Dutch Hollow Farms located just outside of Albany. Slightly-tangy and elegant, it is rich in butterfat—and in taste.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Our small flock of heritage breed laying hens gives us fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown and cream.

Housemade Granola

Our granola is hand-crafted in the farmhouse kitchen with toasted pepitas, sunflower seeds, oats and local honey—fantastic served with citrus fruit and Greek yogurt or splashed with cold milk.

Dried Chili Peppers

Turn up the heat with these locally-grown Guajillo and New Mexico chili peppers, which both possess an earthy, sweet flavor and just a touch of crisp, clean heat.

Seasonal Organic Greens

Baby Lacinato kale and baby bok choy.

Seasonal Organic Fruits & Vegetables

This week’s produce selection also includes sweet yellow onions, colorful sweet peppers, celery, baby red potatoes, rutabagas, Brussels Sprouts and Cremini mushrooms, plus Fuji apples and Cara Cara oranges.

Fresh Garden Herbs

Oregano, parsley and garlic from the walled garden and hoophouse at Bella Luna Farms.

Chocolate-Dipped Heart Cookies

Indulge in a little Valentine’s Day treat with these fresh-baked heart shaped sugar cookies dipped in chocolate from our favorite local bakery!
