What’s In The Box? Holiday 2014

Morning Brunch
Gather family and friends round the table this week for a leisurely brunch inspired by our own holiday staples: Nutty, whole-grain hotcakes and sweet honey butter, all-natural breakfast sausage and silky eggs scrambled with sautéed Chanterelles and Tomme cheese from the creamery. Paired with a buffet-ready lineup of cinnamon raisin toast, red raspberry preserves and rich sorghum peanut butter, seasonal produce including petite fingerlings, fresh spinach and arugula round out this fresh, festive meal. Happy holidays!

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Farm & Larder Hotcake Mix

Crafted with whole-grains and toasted pecans, this housemade mix produces hearty flapjacks rich in taste and flavor. Simply mix with milk and an egg in a large bowl, heat up the griddle and get to flipping! Try topping warm hotcakes with Farm & Larder honey butter to lend just a touch of sweetness.

Skagit River Ranch Breakfast Sausage

With a flavor that hints of maple and spices, this incredible breakfast sausage is made from all-natural pork raised on the Skagit River Ranch in Sedro-Woolley. These pampered pigs roam outdoors in certified-organic pastureland to root and dig, thriving on a diet of flax seed, corn and wheat.

Farm & Larder Coffee Blend

Well-rounded with hints of nutty cocoa and a clean, balanced finish, our signature beans are directly sourced from a small estate in South America and then roasted locally by Caffe Lusso in Redmond. To ensure each bean is perfectly toasted, Roastmaster Philip Meech finishes our custom blend in small, twenty-five pound batches on his world-class Diedrich IR-12 roasting machine.

Chanterelle Mushrooms

Try these beautiful local Chanterelle mushrooms—sautéed with organic butter and fresh, seasonal herbs—mixed into a egg scramble with our Tomme cheese.

LaLuca Sparkling Prosecco Wine

Selected by sommelier Yashar Shayan of Impulse Wine, this extra-crisp Prosecco from Italy offers hints of orchard fruit, crisp pear and lemon curd, coming together in a rich, off-dry style that is especially appealing in a morning mimosa.

Farm Fresh Eggs

As they spend more time snug in their coop, our heritage breed laying hens are enjoying an extra helping of grain to supplement their diet, in turn supplying us with beautiful eggs in varying shades of blue, green and brown—enjoy a full dozen this week to enjoy in a holiday scramble or frittata.

Handcrafted Tomme Cheese

Made in our farmstead creamery, this Alpine-style cheese is crafted from whole milk from pasture-fed Jersey cows with extra cream added for a delightful buttery taste. Grate into scrambled eggs this week for a rich finishing touch.

Fresh Cinnamon Raisin Bread

Made with natural starter cinnamon and moist, chewy Flame raisins, this freshly-baked loaf from our favorite local bakery in Snohomish makes excellent toast. Set out a freshly-toasted stack along with this week’s trio of toppings: honey butter, red raspberry preserves and peanut sorghum butter.

Honey Butter

Made from golden wildflower honey from Bella Luna Farms and organic sweet butter.

Fresh Red Raspberry Preserves

Our housemade jam is crafted from gorgeous, organic Tulameen raspberries lovingly handpicked off the vine each morning during the summer season. To preserve the wonderful fresh flavor and color, we make this ‘uncooked jam’ with raspberries, organic sugar, and pectin. (That’s it!)

Big Spoon Roasters Peanut Sorghum Butter

A taste of classic Appalachia, this addictive spread from North Carolina’s Big Spoon Roasters is crafted with fresh-roasted peanuts, flake sea salt and Muddy Pond sorghum syrup, an assertive, honey-like liquid that adds a wonderfully-rich texture to this versatile spread.

Organic Fruits & Vegetables

This week’s produce selection also includes German Butterball fingerling potatoes, Cipollini onions, tiny sweet Mandarin oranges, Lady apples and cranberries.

Seasonal Greens

Baby spinach and spicy arugula.

Fresh Garden Herbs

Fresh garlic, shallots and curly parsley from the greenhouse and walled garden at Bella Luna Farms.
