What’s In The Box? January 20-26

Winter’s Brunch
Rise and shine—it’s breakfast time! This week, cozy up to a wintery, brunch-themed box that stars such farmhouse favorites as organic pork breakfast sausages, housemade apple butter and both farm-fresh chicken and duck eggs, plus cinnamon bread, maple syrup and fragrant vanilla beans to help you whip up a sweet baked French toast for the centerpiece of your meal. Also accented by Makah Ozette fingerling potatoes, juicy Cara Cara oranges, Cosmic Crisp apples and a beautiful blend of braising greens, as well as salted butter from Tunawerth Creamery and fresh herbs, this lineup is sure to help you start your day off right.

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Skagit River Ranch Breakfast Sausage

With a flavor profile that includes hints of sweet maple syrup and savory spices, these incredible breakfast sausages are made from the all-natural pork raised on the Skagit River Ranch in Sedro-Woolley. These pampered pigs roam outdoors in certified-organic pasture land to root and dig, thriving on a diet of flax seed, corn and wheat.

Cinnamon Bread

Baked just for us by a favorite local bakery and new to F&L, this fresh-baked cinnamon loaf makes for a delicious base to French toast.

Republic of Vermont Maple Syrup

Pure Vermont sweet maple syrup for all your breakfast needs.

Nielsen Massey Vanilla Beans

Heady with an intense heavenly aroma, these vanilla beans will bring your French toast to the next level!

Mille Prosecco Millesimato Extra-Dry DOC

Fabulously lively and light at every glass, this extra-dry Italian Prosecco features a bouquet of apple and pear notes as well as hints of light citrus.

Tunawerth Creamery Salted Butter

This creamy, salt-kissed butter hails from a small, family-operated creamery located in Tenino, Washington.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Our small flock of heritage breed laying hens are on an early-to-bed, later-to-rise schedule with the short daylight hours. As they spend more time snug in their coop, the “girls” are enjoying an extra helping of grain to supplement their diet, continuing to give us fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown, beige and cream.

Duck Eggs

With near-transparent egg whites and color-rich oversize yolks, these local duck eggs from Doyle’s Eggs and Orange Star Farm are a chef’s dream, lending flavorful appeal to a variety of dishes.

Housemade Apple Butter

A farmhouse favorite crafted from fresh-picked Bella Luna orchard apples, slow-cooked in a cider reduction and seasoned with organic cane sugar and warm spices.

Seasonal Fruit

Cara Cara oranges and Cosmic Crisp apples.

Fresh Organic Greens

Lusia radicchio and a beautiful mix of braising greens.

Seasonal Organic Vegetables

This week’s produce selection includes Walla Walla sweet onions, Makah Ozette fingerling potatoes, One Leaf Farm carrots and Delicata winter squash.

Fresh Garden Herbs

Italian parsley, thyme, and shallots from the walled garden at Bella Luna Farms.
