What’s In The Box? January 6-12

Cozy & Comforting
Happy New Year! Cozy up to our first delivery of the year, which features our handcrafted tomato soup, plus freshly-baked Gruyère cheese bread and our light and bright citronette to drizzle over this week’s bounty of greens. Also accented by produce like leeks, Brussels sprouts and carrots, plus farm-fresh eggs, fragrant herbs and cocoa nib granola, this lineup is sure to help you start your year off right.

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

F&L Tomato Soup

This warm and cozy soup is crafted in our farmhouse kitchen from fresh tomatoes, celery, onions and fresh, fragrant herbs, plus our signature chicken stock. For a warm and cozy meal, serve up a steaming bowlful with a hunk of Gruyère cheese bread and a crisp side salad alongside.

Gruyère Cheese Bread

Made in nearby Snohomish by our favorite bakery, this freshly-baked loaf balances rich Gruyère cheese with a light, crisp crust. (It also makes a delicious base for a grilled cheese sandwich to dunk in this week’s soup!)

House Citronette

Light and bright with fresh-squeezed lemon, orange and grapefruit juices, this housemade vinaigrette is as lovely drizzled over roasted vegetables or sautéed greens as it is on your favorite salad.

Milbrandt Vineyards 2020 Rosé

The Syrah dominant Rosé from this Washington winery is dry, full-bodied and lush, with gorgeous red berry fruits like raspberry and strawberry. It shows extraordinary bright fruit and floral notes on the nose. A crisp profile, hints of grapefruit pith, and layered minerality make this vintage everything you could want in a dry Rosé.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Our small flock of heritage breed laying hens are on an early-to-bed, later-to-rise schedule with the short daylight hours. As they spend more time snug in their coop, the “girls” are enjoying an extra helping of grain to supplement their diet, continuing to give us fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown, beige and cream.

Persephone Bakery Cocoa Nib Granola

This scratch-made granola from the Persephone Bakery in Jackson Hole, Wyoming is subtly sweet and delicious for breakfast, dessert or snacking by the handful, made with oats, pecans, cocoa nibs, honey, coconut flakes, canola oil, sesame seeds, vanilla extract and ground cinnamon.

Seasonal Fruit

Arirang Asian pears, Meyer lemons and Cara Cara oranges.

Fresh Organic Greens

Enjoy a beautiful bounty of greens this week—cantaloupe shoots, pea shoots, Rosalba radicchio and Treviso radicchio.

Seasonal Organic Vegetables

This week’s produce selection includes leeks, Brussels sprouts, carrots, onions and Delicata squash.

Fresh Garden Herbs

Music garlic and shallots from the walled garden at Bella Luna Farms.
