Cool, classic and colorful, Salade Niçoise is the hallmark of summer in France, layered with fresh, crisp produce like green beans, cherry tomatoes and fingerling potatoes, and accents like briny black Nicoise olives and protein-rich tuna. Thus, your box this week honors Bastille Day with local ingredients to create your own version of the famous salad, plus summery herbs and produce, a crisp French white wine, fresh baguettes and chocolatey s’mores treats for a little something sweet. Salade Niçoise

This protein-rich salad from Provence balances the best in summer produce with briny accents like olives and Albacore tuna. This week, we’ve included ingredients to craft your own version of Julia Child’s classic recipe—see below:

Lummi Island Wild Albacore Tuna

Flavorful canned Albacore tuna from local company Lummi Island Wild.

Niçoise Olives

Robust, fruity and marinated in grassy olive oil.

Niçoise Vinaigrette

Our light Dijon mustard-based dressing is seasoned with sea salt, cracked pepper, fresh herbs and tart white wine vinegar.

French Baguettes

Baked just for us by our favorite small bakery in nearby Snohomish, these fresh baguettes embody classic French baking with a delightfully-crisp crust and an airy interior.

Côté Mas Blanc Méditerranée 2018

Vibrant notes of citrus, grapefruit and a touch of tropical fruit lend a refreshing, well-balanced acidity to this crisp French white wine crafted from a combination of Grenache Blanc, Vermentino, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grapes.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Busy scratching through the straw mulch in their spacious outdoor run looking for tasty bugs and worms, our heritage breed laying hens supply us with fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown, beige and cream.

S’mores Treats

These chocolate-covered bites from East Coast Sweets channel the classic bonfire treat, down to the fluffy marshmallow and buttery graham crackers!
