What’s In The Box? June 3-9

Spring into Summer
This week’s box pays homage to the best spring ingredients—baby red potatoes, bright Pink Beauty radishes, creamy Hakurei turnips—while looking forward to summer with colorful sweet pea blooms and the first stone fruits of the season, gorgeous apricots. Top those ripe beauties with our signature cobbler crust mix and pop it into the oven for dessert, then have fun in the kitchen with the other provisions included in this bright lineup: Pain au Levain bread, fresh eggs from the henhouse and our rich and silky crème fraîche, plus chai-spiced peanut butter and a plethora of greens including Swiss chard, Little Gem lettuce and Lacinato kale.

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Fresh Apricots

Gorgeous, ripe apricots fit for a delicious fruit cobbler.

F&L Cobbler Crust Mix

Our signature cobbler crust mix contains organic flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and butter; when combined with a splash of milk, the resulting mixture produces a light and fluffy cobbler topping. Pair with either your favorite stone fruit or berries for the perfect spring dessert.

Pain au Levain Bread

This slightly-nutty, slightly-sweet sourdough bread epitomizes French country-style baking with a chewy crust and light, airy interior. Baked by our favorite bakery in Snohomish, this traditional Pain au Levain is crafted using the bakery’s own sourdough starter.

Lorelle Pinot Noir

This Willamette Valley wine from Oregon features aromas of blueberry preserves and oak spice, with the flavors of chocolate-covered cherries balanced nicely by medium tannins and a lingering finish.

Crème Fraîche

Crafted in our creamery from pasteurized organic sweet cream, this rich and silky crème fraîche adds a beautiful finishing touch to salad dressings, desserts, scrambled eggs and more.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Busy scratching through the straw mulch in their spacious outdoor run looking for tasty bugs and worms, our heritage breed laying hens supply us with fresh eggs in beautiful shades of cream, beige and brown.

Big Spoon Roasters Chai Spice Nut Butter

A fusion of classic American and Indian flavors, this addictive spread from North Carolina’s Big Spoon Roasters blends a traditional Masala Chai comprised of fragrant cardamom, cloves, ginger, vanilla and black pepper with freshly-milled peanuts, almonds, wildflower honey and sea salt to create a bright burst of flavor in every spoonful.

Seasonal Organic Greens

Swiss chard, Tom Thumb and Little Gem lettuces and Lacinato kale.

Seasonal Organic Vegetables & Fruit

This week’s produce selection also includes Hakurei turnips, Pink Beauty radishes, baby red potatoes and Walla Walla sweet onions, plus Meyer lemons.

Fresh Garden Herbs

Green garlic, apple mint and parsley from the walled garden and greenhouse at Bella Luna Farms.

Seasonal Bouquet

Fresh-picked fragrant sweet peas to brighten your home!
