What’s In The Box? March 11-17

Brunch Time
Can you feel it? The crocuses are in bloom, daffodils are popping out of the soil and we’ve even shed our jackets an afternoon or two this week: The march towards spring has begun! Celebrate the changing seasons this week with a delicious brunch lineup filled with some of our favorite provisions—from Skagit River Ranch bacon and nutty emmer grain pancake mix to farm-fresh eggs and our own housemade apple butter to slather on your choice of biscuits or scones. Also included: Cinnamon-raisin bread, raspberry smoothies and Big Spoon Roasters’ signature peanut butter kissed with wildflower honey and sea salt.

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Bluebird Grain Farms Organic Emmer Pancake Mix

This fantastic mix from a plow-to-package grain farm located in Winthrop, Washington yields sweet, nutty heirloom grain pancakes that are high in fiber, protein and B vitamins—not to mention utterly delicious!

Skagit River Ranch Bacon

Smoky, salty and savory, this locally-sourced bacon is also nitrate-free. The pampered pigs raised on the Skagit River Ranch in Sedro Woolley roam outdoors in certified-organic pastures to root, dig, and cavort as only happy pigs can, thriving on a diet of flax seed, corn and wheat.

F&L Scone/Biscuit Mix

Take your pick and then top these hot-from-the-oven biscuits or scones with a slathering of apple butter.

Fresh Cinnamon-Raisin Bread

Made with natural starter, cinnamon and moist, chewy Flame raisins, this freshly-baked loaf is from our favorite bakery in Snohomish.

Mille Prosecco Millesimato Extra-Dry DOC

Fabulously lively and light at every glass, this extra-dry Italian Prosecco is wonderful mixed into a cocktail with a bouquet of apple and pear notes, as well as hints of light citrus.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Our small flock of heritage breed laying hens gives us fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown and cream.

Cherry Valley Fromage Blanc with Fines Herbes

This wonderfully-creamy and just-slightly-tangy cheese is made from locally-sourced milk and farm-fresh Herbes de Provence by Cherry Valley Dairy in Duvall.

Grace Harbor Farms Whatcom Red Raspberry Smoothie

Made from Washington raspberries grown by a collective of farmers in Whatcom County, this sweet smoothie is 100-percent natural, sans thickeners and additives.

Housemade Apple Butter

A farmhouse favorite crafted from fresh-picked orchard apples, slow-cooked in a cider reduction and seasoned with brown sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon.

Big Spoon Roasters Peanut Butter with Wildflower Honey & Sea Salt

This flagship spread offers the perfect balance of fresh-roasted peanuts with touches of honey and sea salt, all blended with a few drops of organic coconut oil for a smooth, truly addictive texture.

Seasonal Organic Greens

Spring pea and buckwheat shoots, plus kale.

Herb-Roasted Squash

Kissed with fresh herbs, these house-roasted squash is fantastic added to salads and scrambles, or enjoyed as a side dish.

Seasonal Organic Fruits & Vegetables

This week’s produce selection also includes Bintje potatoes, onions, leeks, Cremini mushrooms and fennel, plus Honey tangerines and Ginger Crisp apples.
