What’s In The Box? March 12-20

MARCH 12-20

Cozy & Comforting
As perhaps more of us are cuddled up at home here (we sincerely hope you and yours are well!), now feels like just the time for a bowl of warm, comforting bowl soup, yes? Get cozy with our signature handcrafted tomato soup this week, perfectly complemented by fixings for a seriously-melty sandwich made from nutty Fontina and bread kissed with rich Gruyère cheese. Also included: Organic daffodils, a whimsical Swedish dish towel and Sauk Farm’s apple Verjus, which is sure to complement the box’s beautiful bevy of salad greens, too.

F&L Tomato Soup

This warm and cozy soup is crafted in our farmhouse kitchen from fresh tomatoes, celery, onions and fresh, fragrant herbs, plus our signature chicken stock. Serve up a steaming bowlful alongside a melty cheese sandwich for dunking and a crisp side salad.

Fontina-Style Cheese

Fresh from our farmstead creamery, this nutty, buttery Fontina-style cheese is crafted from sweet cow’s milk.

Gruyère Cheese Bread

Made in nearby Snohomish by our favorite bakery, this freshly-baked loaf balances rich Gruyère cheese with a light, crisp crust; it’s an absolutely delicious base for a grilled cheese sandwich!

Diamond Knot Brewing Company Industrial IPA

This full-bodied IPA from Mukilteo’s own Diamond Knot Brewing Company is deep and earthy, with piney notes and a smooth, malty finish.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Spending their time dodging raindrops on wet spring days, our heritage breed laying hens are now also enjoying the tasty green popweed we pull from the garden, in turn supplying us with eggs in beautiful shades of brown, beige and cream.

Sauk Farm Apple Verjus

Made from 100-percent organic, unripe green apples grown on Sauk Farm in Concrete, Washington, this Verjus is an acidic, low-sugar vinegar substitute that can be used to poach fish and meat, or mixed into sauces, salad dressings and even, your next cocktail.

Seasonal Organic Greens

Peppery Wrinkled Crinkled Cress, Claytonia and colorful salad mix.

Seasonal Organic Fruits & Vegetables

This week’s produce selection includes green cabbage, yellow onions, leeks, bok choy, purple sprouting broccoli, potatoes and carrots, plus Bosc pears.

Fresh Garden Herbs

Thyme, garlic and parsley from the walled garden and greenhouse at Bella Luna Farms.

Spring Daffodils

Brighten your home with these organically-grown daffodils grown just north of us in the Skagit Valley.

Three Bluebird Swedish Dishcloth

Use it in place of a sponge, use it instead of paper towels: You’ll love this whimsical, reusable and recyclable cloth made from a blend of cotton and other fibers.
