What’s In The Box? May 6-12

A Mother’s Love
Show Mom some love this weekend with a fresh and easy lineup highlighted by new spring produce such as Little Gem lettuce, asparagus, fragrant tarragon and Pink Beauty radishes, as well as house favorites like Challah bread, farm-fresh eggs and our own tomato soup. Serve up these seasonal beauties alongside a lineup of sampler-ready bites—think: Crisp flatbreads kissed with sel gris, country-style terrine, pickled heirloom blueberries and raclette cheese—while Mom sits back and relaxes with a glass of crisp Rosé wine. To Mom!

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Smoking Goose Rabbit Terrine

Seasoned with savory herbs and spices and crafted from rabbit, this country-style terrine from the experts at the renowned Smoking Goose meatery is wonderful served alongside this week’s rustic flatbreads, accoutrements like raclette and pickled blueberries, and of course, an array of spring produce!

Bow Hill Blueberries Pickled Heirloom Blueberries

A Good Food Award winner in 2017, 2019 and 2021, these whole pickled berries from Bow Hill Blueberries are made from the Stanley variety and always deliver a crisp burst of tangy deliciousness with each bite.

Rustic Bakery Sel Gris Flatbread Bites

A perfect accompaniment to this week’s pâté and pretty much any other antipasto you can dream up, these bakery flatbread bites are toasted to a perfect golden brown with olive oil and then sprinkled with French sel gris sea salt.

Challah Bread

Baked just for us by our favorite bakery in Snohomish, this fresh loaf boasts a sweet, rich flavor thanks to a traditional base of silky eggs and Shepherd’s Grain flour, plus a touch of sugar.

Lu & Oly 2020 Flowerhead Rosé

Strawberries and raspberries combine with delicate peach and cherries flavors on the palate, progressing into apricot and zest in this wine; full taste and crisp acidity provide a winning pairing with a long finish.

Raclette

Raclette is an intensely satisfying melted cheese dish from the Alps traditionally made over live fire, but it’s just as delicious melted into a grilled cheese sandwich on this week’s Challah bread, too!

Farm Fresh Eggs

Our heritage breed laying hens supply us with fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown, beige and cream.

F&L Tomato Soup

Give Mom the night off from cooking dinner, too: This warm and cozy soup is crafted in our farmhouse kitchen from fresh tomatoes, celery, onions and fresh, fragrant herbs, plus our signature chicken stock.

Seasonal Organic Greens

Mixed microgreens, Little Gem lettuce, mixed spring greens, arugula, and sunflower and pea shoots.

Seasonal Organic Fruit & Vegetables

This week’s produce selection also includes Hakurei turnips, asparagus, and Pink Beauty radishes, plus Koru apples, Cara Cara oranges and Meyer lemons.

Fresh Garden Herbs

Italian parsley, thyme, tarragon and garlic from the walled garden and greenhouse at Bella Luna Farms.
