What’s In The Box? September 12-18

Good Morning
With drizzly mornings, pleasant afternoons and crisp evenings, it feels as if fall is in the air and what better way to celebrate the changing seasons than with a family-friendly feast centered around the breakfast table? Frittata-ready summer produce still abounds, from heirloom tomatoes and zucchini to eggplant and frying peppers, and this fresh lineup also includes our signature honey-citrus vinaigrette for drizzling over salads along with fresh chevre cheese; multigrain bread for morning toast; and the first of the fall apples to craft something sweet—enjoy!

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Honey-Citrus Vinaigrette

Our bright and lively housemade vinaigrette is kissed olive oil, farmstead honey and fresh citrus juices—and is equally delicious tossed with roasted vegetables as it is with salad greens!

Multigrain Bread

From our favorite bakery in Snohomish, this freshly-baked loaf is made with locally-milled Shepherd’s Grain flour, honey and seven different whole grains, all topped with toasted sunflower seeds.

Chevre Cheese

Soft and spreadable, this lightly creamy chevre is a simply beautiful farmstead cheese. Crafted from goat’s milk and sea salt, it features notes of summer pasture and bright lemon.

Mille Prosecco Millesimato Extra-Dry DOC

Fabulously lively and light at every glass, this extra-dry Italian Prosecco features a bouquet of apple and pear notes as well as hints of light citrus.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Our small flock of heritage breed laying hens gives us fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown and green. The “girls” are enjoying the pleasant afternoons and crisp evenings, chasing bugs and eating tasty green weeds we pull from the garden.

Fall Apples

The first of the Akane apples from the orchard.

Seasonal Organic Greens

Broccoli microgreens and frisée.

Seasonal Organic Vegetables & Fruit

This week’s produce selection also includes leeks, rainbow beets, heirloom tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, Butterfinger fingerling potatoes, yellow Romano beans, sprouting broccoli, zucchini, eggplant and Corno di Toro peppers.

Fresh Garden Herbs

Basil, parsley, marjoram and thyme from the walled garden and greenhouse at Bella Luna.
