An Afternoon of Pansies: Watercolor in the Spring Garden

Sunday, May 17 | 11:00 AM|
$275.00

Join us for an afternoon celebrating the cheerful pansy as we gather to learn, paint, and enjoy the garden together!

We will begin with instructor Brenna Estrada, an accomplished farmer florist and author of Pansies, sharing her tried and true tips for sowing pansies from seed for strong germination and healthy plants. She will also cover the simple growing details that make all the difference, so your pansies thrive all season. You will head home with your own terracotta pot of pansies and a pack of specialty seed, lending a little extra inspiration (and opportunity!) to paint pansies at home.

Then it is time to pick up your paintbrush! Instructor Sarah Simon, also known as The Mint Gardener, will guide you through the techniques she uses for watercolor, uniquely teaching the foundations of this art as a transferable and mindful skill. She will teach you step-by-step, starting with a few flowing washes, then help you use that new knowledge to paint pansies together on a pre-drawn template (no drawing required!).

Along the way, you will also enjoy a simple, local, seasonal lunch during our time together. And because we know you will want to keep painting once you get home, your registration includes professional watercolor paints and brushes, plus a curated palette made specifically for this event!

At each Class on the Farm you will get the chance to enjoy Bellsong Creamery cheeses, sip a glass of something special, and gather around a beautifully prepared meal.
