How it Works
First of all, how does it work? A handcrafted wooden box will be hand-delivered to your doorstep, where it will remain throughout the duration of your subscription. This is where your weekly Farm & Larder goods will be placed each week.
Woodland & Garden
This week’s box captures the bright, fleeting beauty of spring, bringing together earthy woodland treasures, garden herbs, and the season’s first sweet fruits. An impressive display of locally-grown and -foraged spring mushrooms pairs beautifully with creamy Arborio rice for comforting risottos and cozy suppers, while tender asparagus, purple sprouting broccoli, and fresh herbs bring vibrant color and freshness to the table. First-of-the-season strawberries and rosy rhubarb offer a sweet nod to the warmer days ahead, balanced by crusty Pain au Levain bread, farm-fresh hen and duck eggs, and rich Bellsong cheese. Enjoy!
Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:
Arborio Rice
This round-grain rice comes from the Po River Valley region of Italy and is named for the town of Arborio located in the heart of the area. When cooked with our flavorful chicken stock and a splash of white wine, it becomes creamy and starchy and is a great pairing for spring produce, such as this week’s mix of local mushrooms, asparagus, peas shoots, and more.
Spring Mushrooms!
This week’s box includes an abundant medley of earthy local mushrooms, from prized foraged Morels to beautiful Pacific Northwest-grown Shiitake, Oyster, and Lion’s Mane varieties. Woodsy, rich, and deeply flavorful, these mushrooms shine in everything from creamy risottos and pastas to simple sautés finished with butter, herbs, and a squeeze of lemon.
Pain au Levain Bread
This slightly-nutty, slightly-sweet sourdough bread epitomizes French country-style baking with a chewy crust and light, airy interior. Baked by our favorite bakery in Snohomish, this traditional Pain au Levain is crafted using the bakery’s own sourdough starter.
Ravoire et Fils Domaine des Bellugues Rosé Mediterranée 2025
Made by a small family estate named for the fireflies that live around the vineyard (bellegues means “spark”), this French rosé bursts with fresh fruit flavors and a crisp, bright acidity.
Bellsong Creamery Bella Rossa Cheese
Handcrafted here in our farmstead creamery using the freshest raw cow’s milk from the Skykomish Valley, Bella Rossa is a raclette-style washed-rind cheese inspired by the great alpine cheeses of France and Italy. Aged and carefully washed in our creamery cave for several months, it develops a beautiful pinkish-copper rind and a rich, creamy texture with savory, brothy notes.
Farm Fresh Eggs
Our small flock of heritage-breed Black Copper Marans, Ameraucanas, and Delawares provides us with fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown and green. With the longer days of spring, they are enjoying more time outside in their run, pecking, scratching, and soaking up the sunshine.
Duck Eggs
Prized for their rich flavor and beautifully golden yolks, these local duck eggs bring extra depth and luxurious texture to everything from baking to breakfast plates. Their larger size and silky whites make them especially lovely for scrambling, frying, or topping a creamy spring risotto.
