How it Works
First of all, how does it work? A handcrafted wooden box will be hand-delivered to your doorstep, where it will remain throughout the duration of your subscription. This is where your weekly Farm & Larder goods will be placed each week.
Summer at its Peak
There is a brief moment each summer when the gardens, orchards, and forests seem to offer everything at once—and this week’s box celebrates exactly that. Wild grey Morels and golden Chanterelles, just-picked vegetables, fragrant herbs, sweet apricots, and crisp greens come together alongside farm-fresh eggs, and buttery French madeleines for a collection that feels both abundant and effortlessly elegant. Whether you’re preparing a simple weeknight supper, lingering over a leisurely brunch, or gathering friends around the table, this is summer at its most generous.
Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:
Foraged Mushrooms
Fresh from the forests, this week’s harvest includes both earthy grey Morels and golden Chanterelles, two prized wild mushrooms celebrated for their rich flavor and meaty texture. Whether sautéed simply with butter and herbs, folded into fresh pasta, spooned over grilled steak, or tucked into an omelet, these seasonal treasures bring the unmistakable flavors of the forest straight to your table.
Gruyère Cheese Bread
Made in nearby Snohomish by our favorite bakery, this freshly-baked loaf balances sweet, nutty Gruyère with a light, crisp crust. Absolutely wonderful re-warmed in the oven—just sprinkle it with a few drops of water and bake at 350° for about 15 minutes.
Freshly Baked Madeleines
A beloved French classic, made by Mirabelle by Orphee here in Seattle, these madeleines are prized for their tender crumb, buttery richness, and delicate shell shape, they’re perfect enjoyed with a cup of coffee, tucked into a picnic basket, or savored as a sweet finish to the day.
Costières de Nimes Campuget Tradition Rosé
Crafted from a blend of Syrah and Grenache Noir grapes, this French rosé boasts a fresh pink color that mimics the particularly fruity taste of raspberries and strawberries on palette. Typical of the Campuget style, it has a good and refreshing acidity.
Farm Fresh Eggs
Our small flock of heritage-breed Black Copper Maran, Ameraucana, and Delaware hens provide us with fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown and green. With the long days of summer, they are enjoying lots of time outside in their run, pecking, scratching, and soaking up the sunshine.
Seasonal Organic Greens
Gorgeous baby lettuces, Belgian endive, and frisée.
Fresh Organic Fruit & Vegetables
This week’s box provides a summer’s bounty of fresh seasonal produce: fennel, rainbow carrots, radishes, Chioggia and red beets, baby artichokes, Jimmy Nardello peppers, zucchini, and Sunrise Medley potatoes, plus apricots and lemons.
Garden-Grown Herbs
Garlic, thyme, mint and dill from the walled garden and middle field here at Bella Luna.
