How it Works

First of all, how does it work? A handcrafted wooden box will be hand-delivered to your doorstep, where it will remain throughout the duration of your subscription. This is where your weekly Farm & Larder goods will be placed each week.

Foraged & Found

This week’s box celebrates the fleeting magic of spring foraging, bringing together Northwest ingredients gathered from forest, field, and farm. Wild black morel mushrooms and tender fiddleheads take center stage—earthy, delicate, and deeply seasonal—paired with tender pork, fresh greens, and the bright tang of first-of-the-season rhubarb. Fragrant caramelized onion- and thyme-kissed sourdough, fresh farmstead eggs, and a mix of vibrant vegetables round out the collection, offering a beautiful balance of rustic comfort and fresh spring flavor.

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Jack Mountain Meats Pork Tenderloin
Tender, lean, and beautifully versatile, pork tenderloin is a favorite cut for its delicate texture and mild, savory flavor. Sourced from thoughtfully raised, local pork, the tenderloin from this Skagit Valley-based meat company cooks quickly and pairs effortlessly with both bright spring ingredients and deeper, earthy flavors.

Locally Foraged Black Morel Mushrooms
These seasonal mushrooms are only available in the wild, developing a cult following of local ‘mushroom hunters’ who roam our forests looking for this treat of nature. Woodsy and earthy, yet delicate and rich, they are excellent incorporated into a variety of dishes, or simply sautéed in butter or olive oil and enjoyed on their own with a squeeze of lemon over top.

Locally Foraged Fiddleheads
A true spring delicacy! These tightly-coiled tips of the Lady fern are only available for a short time during the spring months and boast a grassy, slightly-nutty flavor when sautéed—they are a lovely addition to pasta, risotto or stir-fry.

New Day Baking Caramelized Onion and Thyme Sourdough Bread
Kissed with fragrant caramelized onions and flecks of thyme, this lovely freshly-baked sourdough loaf makes for lovely crostini, toast, or even sandwich bread.

Mille Prosecco Millesimato Extra-Dry DOC
Lively and light at every sip, this extra-dry Italian Prosecco features a bouquet of apple and pear notes as well as hints of light citrus.

Farm Fresh Eggs
Our small flock of heritage-breed Black Copper Marans, Ameraucanas, and Delawares provides us with fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown and green. As the days lengthen, they are enjoying more time outside in their run, pecking, scratching, and soaking up the spring sunshine.

Girl Meets Dirt Quince Marmalade
Made from beautiful quince harvested from a century-old tree, this scrumptious preserve from Orcas Island-based Girl Meets Dirt is lightly infused with organic sugar and lemon juice to achieve the perfect balance of sweet and tart.

Rhubarb
This week, enjoy a true hallmark of spring—first of the season rhubarb in all its bright-red, sweet-tart glory!

Seasonal Organic Greens
This week’s box includes wild watercress.

Fresh Organic Fruit & Vegetables
This week’s produce selection also includes purple sprouting broccoli, baby carrots, Huckleberry gold potatoes, and foraged ramps.

Garden-Grown Herbs
Sweet bay leaves and fragrant rosemary from the hoophouse and walled garden here at Bella Luna. Also included: fresh lovage stalks, a parsley-like herb that boasts the same crispness as does celery, plus a pungent herbal flavor. A wonderful garnish for pastas and soups, it can also be tossed in with salad greens for extra punch, or used to flavor roasted chicken (just tuck the lovage into the cavity before roasting).
