How it Works

First of all, how does it work? A handcrafted wooden box will be hand-delivered to your doorstep, where it will remain throughout the duration of your subscription. This is where your weekly Farm & Larder goods will be placed each week.

Late Summer, Gathered

The garden is still overflowing, the forests are beginning to offer up their treasures, and this week’s Farm & Larder box brings the best of both to the table. Golden chanterelles, Shishito peppers, heirloom tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, tender greens, and fresh herbs invite simple, produce-forward meals, while rosemary sea salt bread is ready for the grill and ripe peaches and Shiro plums provide a sweet finish. It’s late summer at its most abundant—colorful, flavorful, and meant to be enjoyed while the days are still long.

Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:

Shishito Peppers
These little green gems may look fiery, but don’t be fooled—Shishito peppers are mostly mild, with just the occasional spicy surprise! Simply toss them in a hot skillet with a splash of oil and a sprinkle of flaky salt for an irresistible snack or side. Their blistered, smoky flavor pairs perfectly with grilled meats, rice bowls, or a cold drink on the patio.

Chanterelle Mushrooms
Fresh from the forests, Chanterelle mushrooms are celebrated for their rich flavor and meaty texture. Whether sautéed simply with butter and herbs, folded into fresh pasta, spooned over grilled steak, or tucked into an omelet, these seasonal treasures bring the unmistakable flavors of the forest straight to your table.

Summer Stone Fruit
Few things capture the sweetness of summer quite like perfectly ripe stone fruit. This week’s selection pairs juicy, sun-kissed peaches with golden Shiro plums, prized for their delicate skin and sweet, honeyed flavor.

New Day Baking Rosemary Sea Salt Bread
Kissed with fragrant rosemary and flecks of sea salt, this freshly baked loaf from New Day is made for the summer table. Grill or toast thick slices and pile them with juicy ripe tomatoes and garden herbs, turn them into crostini, or tuck seasonal vegetables and fresh cheese between slices for an easy summer sandwich.

Board Track Speed Racer 2023 Red Wine
Bold yet wonderfully approachable, this Columbia Valley red from Mark Ryan Winery’s Board Track Racer collection blends Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Merlot into a juicy, smooth-drinking wine. Aromas of dark cherry, subtle florals, and tobacco lead into layers of ripe cherry, anise, herbs, and black tea, balanced by bright acidity and silky tannins. A natural match for late-summer grilling, pour it alongside grilled eggplant or zucchini, blistered Shishito peppers, or anything smoky from the barbecue.

Farm Fresh Eggs
Our small flock of heritage-breed Black Copper Maran, Ameraucana, and Delaware hens provide us with fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown and green. With the long days of summer, they are enjoying lots of time outside in their run, pecking, scratching, and soaking up the sunshine.

Housemade Crème Fraîche
Our rich and silky crème fraîche is crafted in our farmstead creamery from pasteurized organic sweet cream.

Seasonal Organic Greens
Bietola Italian Swiss chard, Butter lettuce, escarole, and baby lettuces.

Fresh Organic Vegetables
This week’s produce selection also includes: bunched baby red beets, Caraflex cabbage, red onion, silver slicing cucumber, cherry tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, fennel, Italian heirloom zucchini, baby artichokes, and eggplant.

Garden-Grown Herbs
Fresh flat-leaf Italian parsley and German Hardy white garlic from the walled garden and middle field here at Bella Luna.
