What's in the box this week?
Wholesome Winter Brunch
This week’s box is a hearty winter brunch, built for slow mornings and second cups of coffee. Think breakfast sausage patties sizzling alongside farm-fresh hen (and duck!) eggs, with crisp-edged grain cakes made from Bluebird Grain Farms’ nourishing Potlatch Pilaf. There’s creamy Bellsong chèvre to fold into scrambles, Gruyère cheese bread to toast and slather, and the bakery’s famous cinnamon rolls for a little weekend indulgence. Coconut-kissed granola and a bright red raspberry smoothie bring a fresh, feel-good balance, while Cara Cara oranges add a pop of sunshine. With lightly sparkling pear perry to pour and seasonal vegetables ready for roasting, this is the kind of box that invites you to linger at the table.
Here’s what you’ll find in your box this week:
Skagit River Ranch Breakfast Sausage
With a flavor profile that includes hints of sweet maple syrup and savory spices, these incredible breakfast sausages patties are made from the all-natural pork raised on the Skagit River Ranch in Sedro-Woolley. These pampered pigs roam outdoors in certified-organic pasture land to root and dig, thriving on a diet of flax seed, corn and wheat.
Bluebird Grain Farms Organic Potlatch Pilaf
Crafted “plow to package” in Winthrop, Washington, this nourishing blend of golden emmer farro splits and organic split wild rice brings a nutty depth and hearty texture to your winter brunch table. Cook it up and fold into savory breakfast bowls with jammy eggs and sautéed greens, stir into flapjack batter for an earthy twist, or shape into crisp-edged grain cakes to top with chevre and herbs.
Gruyère Cheese Bread & Cinnamon Rolls
Made in nearby Snohomish by our favorite bakery, this freshly-baked loaf balances sweet, nutty Gruyère with a light, crisp crust. Absolutely wonderful re-warmed in the oven—just sprinkle with a few drops of water and bake at 350° for about 15 minutes. Also included in your delivery: The bakery’s famous cinnamon rolls!
Nashi D’Anjou Non-Alcoholic Perry
Crafted by Vashon Island’s Nashi Orchards using 100% organically grown D’Anjou pears from their Sakura Ridge orchard in Hood River, Oregon, this lightly sparkling perry is beautifully balanced with gentle sweetness and a soft, full mouthfeel. Bright and refreshing with no added sugar, it’s wonderfully versatile—equally lovely alongside brunch fare, creamy cheeses, or simply sipped on its own.
Grace Harbor Farms Whatcom Red Raspberry Smoothie
Made from Washington raspberries grown by a collective of farmers in Whatcom County, this sweet smoothie is 100-percent natural, sans thickeners and additives.
Farm Fresh Eggs
Our small flock of heritage-breed Black Copper Marans, Ameraucanas, and Delawares provides us with fresh eggs in beautiful shades of brown and green. With the shorter days of winter, the hens rise with the sun to roam outdoors—and tuck into their coop early each evening to roost.
Duck Eggs
With near-transparent egg whites and color-rich oversize yolks, these local duck eggs are a chef’s dream, lending flavorful appeal to a variety of dishes.
Fresh Bellsong Creamery Chèvre
Creamy, smooth and decadent, this week’s chèvre cheese is a true farmstead favorite. Crafted from whole goat’s milk, it adds rich, robust mouthfeel to salads, scrambles, and more.
Carnation Farms Toasted Coconut Granola
From our friends at Carnation Farms, this Toasted Coconut Granola is made with organic, gluten-free oats grown right here in the Pacific Northwest using regenerative farming practices that support healthy soil and clean waterways. Lightly sweet, nutty, and perfectly crisp, it’s wonderful layered with yogurt and fruit, sprinkled over smoothie bowls, or enjoyed by the handful with your morning coffee.
Seasonal Organic Greens
Your box contains a selection of Rosalba and Chioggia radicchio, plus red and green Belgian endive.
Fresh Organic Fruit & Vegetables
This week’s produce selection includes red and yellow onions, leeks, black Spanish radishes, Badger Flame beets, and Red Thumb potatoes, and plus Cara Cara oranges.
Garden-Grown Herbs
Fragrant fresh thyme, Italian parsley and bay leaf from the walled garden here at Bella Luna.
